Benches
Saturday, following the Men's Breakfast, a group of men gathered at the shelter house to build 26 new benches for the new space. By 12:30 pm, all the benches were assembled and will be ready to use when we move into the new space. THANKS for all the time and energy, men!

Concrete!
The concrete was poured today, and the sidewalk expanded. Except for some un-welcomed footprints from the neighbor dog that needed to be brushed over, things went smoothly!
It looks like we will be able to worship in there before too long - how wonderful!

Finishing Touches
The progress is moving along, even though the weather has not been cooperating!
This week, the roof has been completely installed, the electric work is about complete, and the retaining wall has been constructed.
We are waiting for some inspections to be completed before the finishing touches can be made on the structure and the concrete floor poured.
THEN comes the process of building new benches for the expanded building, a new altar, light fixtures and fans and other items installed. Landscaping around the structure will take place in the next few weeks, and grass seed will be spread.
A BIG Thank you to all who have given to the Shelter House Fund - the 200 envelope campaign has raised over $20,000 to date. A few more envelopes still have yet to come in, which will put us well over the goal of $20,100.
FINALLY, the word for the time being is PATIENCE - we want to get the work completed, give time for the concrete to set up a bit and let the workers complete their work before we move in. So even though it looks like we should be moving in, it will be another couple of weeks before all is done.
Here are some pictures of the progress.

The Roof!
The roof is being put into place today (Monday, May 16). The end of last week, the trusses were finished and the framing done. Ugly weather today, but the work is still being done.

Up it goes!
The footers are dug, the posts are in place, and the concrete for the footers is ready to be poured. Great progress today!!
Here are some pictures from today's building.
On the fundraising end of things, THANK YOU for your support. ALL of the envelopes have been taken, and over $18,500 has already come in! Our goal is the full $20,100. We will keep you posted.
Exciting to see the progress happening. Thanks be to God for some dry days so the work could begin!

Car Ports Moved
The Carports were moved from the East side of the current structure to the North side. This will allow the building to begin on the addition, as well as provide needed space for the worship services when we go outside the end of May.
Prayers are requested for DRY weather so the building can move forward.
On the money side of things, the good news is there is only one envelope remaining of the 200 envelope fund raiser. Over $20,000 is pledged, and over $16,500 has already come in! Thanks for all your support on this.
As progress continues, we will post pictures of the daily happenings!

And So It Begins
The expansion of the St. Paul Shelter House has begun. Step one is the parking lot addition. The rains have been ongoing for days, and today was the first day the workers could get in. BUT, today is the day - bulldozers and gravel trucks are lined up out in the back parking lot, and the work is getting done!
Looks like there will be additional parking for Easter Sunday!
